I'm kicking myself for forgetting to mention Sworn Enemy earlier. SE is actually a NYHC band but their last two albums have seen them go in a thrash-oriented direction.

Listen to "Maniacal". Pure fuckin' thrash. Definitely one of my favourite releases of 2007 - a monster thrash album by a hardcore band. Kill yourself if you neglect this.

Since you liked MW, I'm guessing you're looking for thrash with a more punk/hardcore/crossover approach. Then you can't go wrong with Cross Examination, my friend. They're the closest you can get to MW.

It doesn't matter which album you start with, they all rule. Still, starting with the first album is always good.

Absolutely loved the Blonded By Blood stuff. Especially the feed the beast album. Superb. Municipal waste had one awesome album- waste em' all. They too have been disappointing for me. Violator was absolutely awesome. I am a fan now.

Talking of new awesome thrash bands, Blood Tsunami's Thrash metal is pretty impressive. If you like retro-thrash kind of shit, this is decent stuff. Faust (emperor) did the drums.

But from the new thrash bands that have emerged lately, i have been absolutely strucked by Decadence. If you're a fan of thrash music you MUST get 3rd Stage of Decay. Period.

^ I thought you'd like the later MW albums more since they're considerably less punk influenced than Waste 'Em All.

What do Decadence sound like? Do they have that retro thing gong on or is it more of a modern thrash sound?

ahh!!  their early albums had influence of both genres but this album is, as far as i am concerned, totally thrash . Just check out the opening track 'corrosion', -  totally ripping. They do sound like modern thrash but not in the veins of  kreator's Violent revolution or something like that.

It is hard to define pure modern thrash metal these days but if you think Legions of the damned are thrash then they are pretty fucking awesome. haha.

BTW malevolent rapture  was another great fucking album ehh!!   can't wait for their next offering.

Yup, I love the artwork as well. Very Repka-ish.

Try Violator's earlier stuff.
